제1장 총칙
Chapter 1. General Provisions
제1조 목적
Article 1. Purpose
본 규정은 한국 요한문헌학회가 발간하는 『성서와 고대문헌』의 편집에 관한 제반 사항을 규정하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
The purpose of this policy is to govern all aspects of the editing of the Journal of Biblical and Ancient Studies (hereinafter referred to as JBAS) published by the Johannine Literature Studies of Korea (hereinafter referred to as JLSK).

Chapter 2. The Editorial Board's Composition and Function
제2조 편집위원회의 구성
Article 2. Editorial Board Composition
편집위원회는 다음 각 호에 따라 구성한다.
The following shall make up the Editorial Board.
1. 편집위원회는 위원장과 14명 이상의 편집위원으로 구성된다.
1. The editorial board consists of an editor-in-chief and at least 14 editorial board members.
2. 편집위원장은 「한국요한문헌학회」의 정관 제8조 4항에 따라 「한국요한문헌학회」 임원회의 결의를 따라 회장이 위촉한다.
2. Following a resolution by JLSK's executive committee, the president appoints the editor-in-chief in line with Article 8, Section 4 of the constitution's rules.
3. 편집위원은 편집위원장과 「한국요한문헌학회」 회장 또는 임원회의 협의를 거쳐 회장이 위촉한다.
3. The president appoints the editorial board members following consultation with the editor-in-chief and the president or executive committee of the JLSK.
4. 편집위원의 임기는 2년으로 하되, 연임할 수 있다.
4. Members of the editorial board have a two-year tenure; however, they are eligible for reappointment.
5. 편집위원회는 「한국요한문헌학회」의 공식 학술지 『성서와 고대문헌』의 원고 심사, 편집, 출판과 기타 학술자료의 편집, 출판에 관한 업무를 관장한다.
5. The editorial board reviews, edits, and publishes manuscripts for "The Bible and Ancient Literature," the official journal of the Korean Johannine Literature Society, along with other scholarly works.
6. 편집위원회는 필요한 경우 별도의 운영지침을 정할 수 있다.
6. If necessary, the editorial board may create distinct operating guidelines.
제3조 편집위원의 자격 및 선정기준
Article 3. Requirements and Selection Standards for Members of the Editorial Board
편집위원은 『성서와 고대문헌』의 연구 분야에 해당하는 연구를 하는 자로, 편집위원장과 「한국요한문헌학회」 회장 및 임원회의 추천을 거쳐 편집위원장과 회장의 협의 후 「한국요한문헌학회」 회장이 위촉한다.
The editorial board members are scholars specializing in the JBAS. Following suggestions from the editor-in-chief and the JLSK ’s president and executive committee, as well as after consultation with the editor-in-chief, the president of the JLKS appoints them.
1. 전체 편집위원의 구성은 『성서와 고대문헌』의 연구 분야의 특정한 이슈나 시각 또는 방법론에 편향되지 않아야 한다.
1. The editorial board should remain unbiased regarding issues, perspectives, or research methods concerning the JBAS.
2. 편집위원의 구성이 특정 지역이나 학교, 혹은 기관에 편중되지 않아야 한다.
2. The editorial board's membership shouldn't be skewed toward any particular area, institution, or school.
3. 편집위원은 『성서와 고대문헌』의 연구 분야에 해당하는 연구를 하는 자 중에서 박사학위 소지자, 대학의 전임강사 이상의 교원 및 그에 준하는 연구기관의 전임연구원 이상을 중심으로 구성하는 것을 원칙으로 한다. 단, 편집위원장이 편집위원회의 구성상 필요하다고 판단한 경우에는 현저한 연구업적을 쌓은 자 혹은 연구능력이 탁월하다고 인정받은 자 중에서 편집위원을 위촉할 수 있다.
3. In principle, the members of the editorial board shall be those who are engaged in research in the field of the Bible and ancient literature and who hold a doctorate, are full-time lecturers or above at universities, and are full-time researchers or above at equivalent research institutions. However, if the editor-in-chief deems it necessary for the composition of the editorial board, he/she may appoint an editorial board member from among those who have made significant research achievements or are recognized for their outstanding research capabilities.
제4조. 편집위원장의 역할
Article 4. The role of the editor-in-chief
편집위원장은 필요할 경우 기고 논문의 작성 과정에서 활용한 자료 (예: 설문 분석 자료 등)를 요청할 수 있다.
If required, the role of the editor-in-chief may request materials (such as survey analysis data) used in the production of submitted publications.

제5조 편집위원회의 역할
Article 5. The Editorial Board's Role
1. 편집위원회는 편집위원장이 소집하며, 다음과 같은 사항을 심의하고 결정한다.
1. The editor-in-chief calls a meeting of the editorial board, which discusses and makes decisions on the following issues.
1) 기고 원고의 적합성 판단
1) Assessing the appropriateness of manuscripts submitted
2) 기고 논문 심사위원의 추천 및 추인(追認)
2) Recommend and endorse reviewers to review submitted manuscripts.
3) 기고 논문 게재 결정의 추인
3) Approving a decision to publish a submitted manuscript
4) 기고 논문 심사와 관련된 규정의 제정 및 개정
4) Establish and revise policies for reviewing submitted manuscripts
2. 편집위원회의 의결은 구성원 과반수의 출석과 출석 구성원 과반수의 찬성에 의한다. 온라인 의사결정도 이에 준한다.
2. A majority of the members of the editorial committee should be present for the resolution to be approved, and the majority of those present must concur. The same applies when making decisions online.
3. 편집위원회는 『성서와 고대문헌』의 질적 수준 향상과 심사기준의 형평성 확보를 위하여 필요한 경우에 다음과 같이 심사과정에 개입할 수 있다.
3. If required, the editorial board may take the following actions to enhance the JBAS and guarantee the impartiality of the review criteria.
1) 타 학술지에 게재되었거나, 심사중인 논문 또는 이미 출간된 서적 및 연구보고서의 요약문은 기고할 수 없다. 이러한 사실이 차후에 발견될 경우 편집위원회는 적절한 절차를 거쳐 이미 게재된 논문은 게재를 취소하며, 심사중인 논문은 심사를 중단한다.
Manuscripts that have been published in other academic journals, are under review, or are abstracts of previously published books and research reports cannot be submitted. If this is discovered at a later date, the Editorial Board shall cancel the publication of already published papers and halt the review of papers under review by appropriate procedures.
2) 편집위원회는 최종 심사결과에 문제가 있다고 인정되면 새로운 심사절차를 거치도록 의결할 수 있다.
2) If the editorial board determines that there is a problem with the final review results, it may choose to go through a fresh review procedure.
3) 편집위원회는 필요한 경우 기고논문의 작성 과정에서 활용한 자료(예: 설문 및 분석 자료 등)를 요청할 수 있다.
3) The editorial board may request documents (such as surveys and analysis data) that were utilized in the preparation of the submission, if necessary.

제6조 기고 논문의 접수
Article 6. Manuscript Submission
논문의 접수 방법과 처리는 다음과 같다.
The following is the procedure and method for submitting manuscripts.
1. 기고논문작성: 기고논문의 작성은 편집위원회가 정한 논문작성양식에 따른다.
1. Manuscript Preparation: The editorial board's format must be followed when preparing the manuscript.
2. 기고논문접수: 기고논문은 수시로 접수하며, 전자우편 혹은 출력물이 편집위원회에 도달한 시점에 접수된 것으로 간주한다.
2. Manuscript Submission: While manuscripts are welcome at any time, they are deemed submitted whenever the editorial board receives the printed or electronic copy.
3. 접수사항의 고지: 기고논문의 접수 시 편집위원회는 그 사실을 논문 제출자에게 고지한다.
3. Notification of Submission: Upon the submission of a manuscript, the editorial board shall notify the author of the submission.
제7조 발행 예정일
Article 7. Publication Schedule
『성서와 고대문헌』은 년 2회 발간하며, 발간예정일은 매년 6월 30일과 12월 31일로 한다.
The JBAS shall be published twice a year on June 30 and December 31 of each year.
제4장 심사절차 및 기준
Chapter 4 Review Procedures and Criteria
제8조 초심
Article 8. Initial Review
편집위원장은 1주일 단위로 접수된 원고의 초심을 의뢰한다.
The editor-in-chief requests the initial review of manuscripts received on a weekly basis.
1. 심사위원 위촉: 편집위원장은 편집위원에게 기고논문의 적합성 판단과 심사위원 추천을 의뢰하고, 편집위원의 의견을 참고하여 2인 이상의 심사위원을 위촉한다.
1. Appointment of reviewers: The editorial chairperson shall request the editorial board members to judge the suitability of the contributed articles and recommend reviewers, and appoint at least two reviewers based on the opinions of the editorial board members.
2. 심사의뢰: 위촉된 심사위원에게 전자우편 또는 논문투고시스템을 통해 논문과 심사의뢰서 및 심사결과통보서를 작성하도록 심사를 의뢰한다. 심사의뢰서 및 심사결과통보서는 편집위원회에서 결정한 양식에 따른다.
2. Request for Review: The designated reviewers are asked to examine the work and send an email or use the manuscript submission system to complete the review request and review result notification forms. The format established by the editorial bord is followed by the review request form and the review outcome notification form.
3. 기일: 초심결과는 2주일 내에 회신 받는 것을 원칙으로 하며, 특별한 사유 없이 3주일 내에 심사결과 통보가 없을 경우, 편집위원장은 직권으로 심사위원을 교체할 수 있으며, 교체 심사위원에게는 심사기한을 명시하여 의뢰할 수 있다.
3. Due date: The editor-in-chief may, at their discretion, replace the reviewer and give the newly assigned reviewer the review deadline if the original review results are not reported within three weeks without specific reasons. Generally, the results of the review should be received within two weeks.
4. 심사기준: 심사위원은 다음 각 호의 심사기준에 따라 객관적이고 공정하게 논문을 심사하여야 한다
4. Review Criteria: The following review criteria must be applied by reviewers in order to fairly and objectively assess the work.
1) 주제와 제목의 적합성(10점): 주제와 제목이 『성서와 고대문헌』의 영역 안에 있고, 본문을 총괄적으로 반영하는가?
1) Appropriateness of the topic and title (10 points): Do the topic and title fall within the scope of the JBAS and comprehensively reflect the content?
2) 주제의 독창성과 창의성 (10점): 주제가 기존의 관점과 해석을 개선하거나 대체하며, 연구자 고유의 시각을 드러내는가?
2) Originality and Creativity of the Topic (10 points): Does the topic showcase the researcher's own point of view and enhance or replace preexisting ideas and interpretations?
3) 문제 제기의 적절성, 목표의 명료성과 설득력 (10점): 문제 제기가 적절하며, 연구의 목적과 필요성이 명확하고 설득력 있게 제시되는가?
3) Problem statement appropriateness, objective clarity, and persuasiveness (10 points): Is the problem statement appropriate, and are the research's purpose and necessity expressed in an understandable and convincing manner?
4) 방법의 적합성과 타당성 (10점): 연구 방법이 주제와 목적에 적합하며, 그 수행이 타당하게 이루어졌는가?
4) Method validity and appropriateness (10 points): Was the research methodology conducted in a way that was both valid and acceptable for the topic and the purpose?
5) 논지의 명확성과 논리 전개 및 논증의 적절성과 일관성 (10점) 논지가 명확하게 제시되며, 논리 전개와 논증 과정이 적절하고 일관성 있게 구성되어 있는가?
5) Argument Clarity, Logical Development, and Argumentation Consistency (10 points): Is the argument given in a clear and coherent manner, and is the process of logical development and argumentation properly and consistently organized?
6) 연구의 완성도와 결과 (10점): 연구 내용이 완성도 높게 정리되어 있으며 연구결과가 타당하고 명확하게 제시되는가?
6) Completeness and Results of the Research (10 points): Is the research content well-organized and are the research results presented in a valid and clear manner?
7) 관련 문헌(선행 연구) 및 자료 분석의 충실도 (10점): 적합한 참고문헌을 인용하여 기존의 관점을 고찰하고 해당 주제 분야의 이해에 도움을 줄 수 있는 새로운 관점을 제시하는가?
7) Comprehensiveness of Related Literature (Previous Research) and Data Analysis (10 points): Does the study include pertinent citations, analyze preexisting ideas, and offer fresh perspectives that advance knowledge of the topic?
8) 표현의 적절성과 명료성 (10점): 사용한 이론, 개념, 용어, 표현, 심상, 발상 등이 적절하고 명료한가?
8) Clarity of Expression and Appropriateness (10 points): Are the theories, concepts, terminology, expressions, images, and ideas used clear and appropriate?
9) 논문 형식 준수 (5점): 『성서와 고대문헌』의 투고 지침과 논문 형식을 준수하는가?
9) Adherence to Paper Format (5 points): Does it adhere to the JBAS's submission guidelines and manuscript format?
10) 각주 및 참고문헌 등 표기의 정확성 (5점): 본문의 인용, 각주, 참고문헌 등이 『성서와 고대문헌』 표기 방식을 준수하는가?
10) Accuracy of references, footnotes, and citations (5 points): Do the references, footnotes, and citations in the text adhere to the JBAS citation style?
11) 학술적 가치 (10점): 논문은 전체적으로 해당 주제 분야 및 『성서와 고대문헌』의 학술적 발전에 기여할 수 있나?
11) Academic Value (10 points): Does the manuscript advance the JBAS and the field of study in question?
5. 판정 통보: 논문 기고 요령에 따라 취합된 논문 심사의 결과를 최종 판정하여, 게재 판정을 받은 논문은 기고자에게 통보하고 최종 원고와 파일을 요청한다. 재심사 판정을 받은 논문은 기고자에게 통보하고 수정 논문과 수정 보완 사항을 정리한 내용을 요청한다. 수정된 논문은 약 1주일 내외에 송부해 줄 것을 요청한다.
5. Notification of Decision: The final judgment of the manuscript review's findings, which were gathered in compliance with the submission standards, shall be rendered. The authors of the accepted manuscripts shall be notified, and they shall be asked to provide the final manuscript and materials. The authors of manuscripts that need to be reevaluated shall be informed, and they shall be asked to submit the updated manuscript along with a synopsis of the changes. Within a week or so, the updated manuscript should be turned in.
6. 판정기준: 논문심사의 결과는 다음의 표에 의하여 판정한다.
6. Criteria for Evaluation: The following table is used to establish the manuscript review's findings.

제9조 재심
Article 9. Reassessment
초심 결과 중 재심사 판정을 받은 논문은 다음과 같이 처리한다.
The following procedures apply to manuscripts that are given a re-evaluation decision based on the findings of the original review.
1. 심사의뢰: 수정된 논문이 도착하면 수정 게재로 판정한 심사위원들에게 재심을 의뢰한다. 재심 기간은 약 1주일 내외로 한다.
1. Request for Review: The reviewers who first suggested conditional acceptance are asked to reevaluate the manuscript once it has been amended. The time frame for re-evaluation is roughly one week.
2. 판정 및 통보: 제8조 4항의 심사기준에 따라 재심결과를 판정한 뒤, 초심과 같은 절차로 기고자에게 통보한다.
2. Decision and Notification: The result of the review shall be determined in accordance with the review criteria in Article 8, Section 4, and notified to the author in the same manner as the initial review.
제10조 확정 및 출판
Article 10. Finalization and Publication
출판을 위한 최종논문의 취합과 발간은 다음과 같이 한다.
The final manuscript shall be compiled and published in the following manner.
1. 저자교정: 게재가 확정된 논문은 약 1주일 내외의 저자교정 기간을 거친 후 최종 인쇄용 원고를 송부 받아 취합한다.
1. Author correction: The final manuscript for printing is prepared after a one-week period of author correction for the manuscript that has been confirmed for publication.
2. 발간: 저자교정을 마친 논문은 편집실무진의 출간 형식 확인과정을 거친 후 출간한다.
2. Publication: The manuscript shall be published after the editorial Board has confirmed the publication format, following the completion of the author corrections.
제11조 게재불가논문의 처리
Article 11. Management of Papers Rejected for Publication
게재불가 판정을 받은 논문은 편집위원장 또는 편집위원회의 명의로 게재불가의 사유를 명기하여 기고자에게 통보하되 제출된 논문은 반환하지 않는다. 단, 최종 판정일로부터 6개월이 경과한 후에 논문의 내용을 근본적으로 수정하여 다시 기고할 수 있다.
The author shall be notified of manuscripts that are deemed unpublishable, and the reasons for rejection shall be specified in the name of the editor-in-chief or the editorial board. However, submitted manuscripts shall not be returned. Nevertheless, the manuscript may be fundamentally revised and resubmitted after six months from the final judgment date.
제12조 이의제기
Article 12. Objection
초심에서 '수정 게재' 판정을 받은 논문이 재심에서 '게재 불가'로 결정된 경우, 기고자는 판정 결과에 이의가 있을 시 판정 통보일로부터 10일 이내에 구체적인 사유 및 증빙 자료를 첨부하여 이의제기를 신청할 수 있다. 이의제기가 접수되면, 편집위원장은 제3심의 수용 여부를 편집위원회에 회부해야 하며, 편집위원회는 접수일로부터 14일 이내에 이를 심의하여 결정한다.
If a paper that was initially deemed "published after revision” is deemed "unpublishable" in the re-review, the author may submit an objection within 10 days of receiving the judgment notification. The objection must include specific reasons and supporting documents. The editor-in-chief is required to refer the adoption of the third review to the editorial board upon receiving the objection. The editorial board shall deliberate and make a decision within 14 days of receipt.
이의제기가 타당하다고 판정될 경우, 기존 심사위원이 아닌 새로운 심사위원 2인을 위촉하여 제3심을 진행한다. 이때, 해당 분야의 전문가를 추천받아 선임해야 하며, 선임된 심사위원에게는 초심·재심 논문, 논문 수정표, 심사의견서를 모두 첨부하여 심사를 의뢰해야 한다. 3심은 ‘게재’ 또는 ‘게재’ 불가‘만 판정할 수 있으며, 심사위원 2인 중 1인 이상이 ‘게재’ 판정을 해야 논문의 게재가 가능하다. 최종 결정은 편집위원장과 편집위원회의 검토를 거쳐 확정되며, 이에 대한 추가적인 이의제기는 허용되지 않는다. 이의제기가 타당하지 않다고 판단될 경우, 기존의 게재불가 판정이 확정된다.
A third review shall be conducted by appointing two new reviewers who are not members of the initial review panel if the objection is determined to be legitimate. Experts in the pertinent discipline shall be recommended and appointed at this time. The initial and second review manuscripts, the manuscript revision page, and the review comments shall be provided to the appointed reviewers for their evaluation. The manuscript shall be approved if at least one of the two reviewers issues a “publication/acceptance" verdict, as the third review is limited to determining "acceptance" or "rejection." No additional objections shall be permitted; the final decision shall be confirmed following a review by the editorial Board and the editor-in-chief. The initial rejection decision shall be confirmed if the objection is determined to be invalid.
제13조 심사내용의 비밀보장
Article 13. Confidentiality of Review Content
편집위원회는 심사자의 익명성을 보장하여야 하며, 심사 결과의 내용에 관하여는 기고자 이외의 타인에게 누설할 수 없다. 단, 기고자의 요청과 심사자의 수락이 있을 경우 편집위원회를 통하여 상호 의견을 교환할 수 있다.
The editorial board is required to maintain the anonymity of the reviewers and is prohibited from disclosing the content of the review results to any individual other than the author. Nevertheless, the editorial board may facilitate the exchange of mutual feedback if the author requests it and the reviewer consents.
제14조 학술상 추천
Article 14. Academic Award Recommendation
약 1주일 내외에 기고한 논문의 심사 과정에서 ‘우수논문상 추천’으로 평가된 논문과 게재 확정 후 심사자들이 ‘우수논문상 추천’으로 평가한 논문은 논문 부문 학술상 추천으로 인정하고 그 내용을 편집위원회에 통보한다.
Manuscripts that are deemed "Recommended for Excellent Paper Award" during the review process within approximately one week of submission, as well as those that are deemed "Recommended for Excellent Paper Award" by reviewers after acceptance, are acknowledged as recommendations for the academic award in the paper category. The editorial board is informed of the specifics.
제15조 논문의 이월 게재
게재 확정 판정을 받은 논문이라 하더라도 저자가 요청하거나 편집위원회의 출간 일정에 따라 이월 게재할 수 있다.
Article 15. Deferred Publication of Papers
Even if a manuscript has been approved for publication, it may be postponed at the author's request or in accordance with the editorial board's publication schedule.
제16조. 논문 게재 예정 증명 등
Article 16 Certificate of Acceptance for Publication, etc.
논문 게재 예정 증명 또는 논문 게재 증명은 각각 논문의 게재가 확정된 후 또는 『성서와 고대문헌』 이 발간된 후 논문 기고자의 요청에 의해 발급한다.
The Certificate of Publication or the Certificate of Adoption for Publication shall be issued upon the author's request following the adoption of the manuscript or the publication of the JBAS respectively.
제17조 (연구부정행위)
Article 17. Scientific Misconduct
『성서와 고대문헌』에 게재되는 논문에서 표절 등 연구부정행위가 발견되는 경우 별도의 연구윤리지침에 의하여 처리한다.
If research misconduct such as plagiarism etc. is found in manuscripts published in the JBAS, it shall be handled according to separate research ethics guidelines.
부칙 Additional provisions
이 규정은 2025년 6월 10일부터 시행한다.
This policy shall take effect on June 10, 2025.
